I’m Emily Drevets. I live in Chicago, where I write, edit, social media, and perform.
Things I care about:
- The future of humanity
- Making art
I’m originally from Oklahoma and went to school at Boston University where I got a B.A. in International Relations and a minor in Arabic.
After graduating, I spent a year in Egypt (post-revolution) before moving to San Francisco and beginning a marketing role in which I found speakers for and managed webinar-based conferences in the area of business intelligence and analytics. I also started doing improv.
In June 2014, I made a transition to spend more time focusing on improv and writing, working as an editor and leading food tours in San Francisco (yes, it was just as fun as it sounds).
I spent another year in San Francisco before moving to Chicago where I’m now working on transitioning back into the tech industry into a more technical role.
I hope to be able to use comedy and improv to communicate some of the fascinating things that are happening in the tech world. Pretty much I want to be Neil deGrasse Tyson, but for tech. Or something like that.
