I’m Emily Drevets. I live in Chicago, where I write, edit, manage social media, and perform.
Things I care about:
- The future of humanity
- Making art
I’m originally from Oklahoma and went to school at Boston University where I got a B.A. in International Relations and a minor in Arabic.
After graduating, I spent a year in Egypt (post-revolution) before moving to San Francisco and being absorbed into a marketing role in the tech industry.
In June 2014, I quit that marketing job because I had started doing improv and loved it. In fact, I told everyone I was going to make a living doing improv. A friend later told me that was like saying I was going to live forever, but I didn’t know that.
I spent another year in San Francisco leading food tours and editing Internet articles before moving to Chicago to do more improv.
That year, I also started learning about entrepreneurship, personal growth, and artificial intelligence. Now I care about those things as well as improv and performing.
